SANTA CRISTINA is a family-owned business established in Austria in 2014, to directly import and supply specialty coffees from El Salvador. Eduardo Hernandez, the owner of the Santa Cristina GmbH wanted a simple website to tell a story of his family business as well as give potential customers an overview of the products he sells.
We had many conversations with Eduardo about what the website should do – the look of it wasn’t supposed to be anything special as Eduardo preferred to keep the site simple. After all, he would have to manage it himself once it was handed over.
I built the website with Polo Template by Crumina. It’s a powerful template synchronised with the Visual Composer plugin. It’s versatile and can be kept minimal at the same time, depending on how you want to use it. The problem starts with overloading it with features – this is why it’s best to read the documentation thoroughly and select only a few page templates rather than all of the available themes.
It’s much easier to set up a website than to SEO-redo an existing website. I happily implemented a clean landing page with navigation leading to the most important sections and co-wrote the text that populates the pages.
By the way, check out the list of cafes where you can buy coffee produced by Santa Cristina on their homepage – it’s delicious!
